As some of you may have read in my journal, during my time in Porthmadog we spent a morning aboard a Steam Train, the Ffestiniog Railway to be exact.
We had to pass the Station to get out of the area we were staying in, it was that close. My Nan loves steam trains, and she sat bolt upright each time we heard the whistle. We decided to go First Class, expensive but better for my Grandparents back's along such a bumpy ride. You are taken through mountains, climbing 700 feet from sea level, round horse-shoe bends and even a spiral at one point, past a waterfall and through woodland, sometimes nothing to the side of you but a sheer drop.
These images were taken at the destination you arrive at, the mining village of Blaenau Ffestiniog. I shan't give away how I took them, though most of you can guess. I'm going to get this mounted on a mug for my Grandmother I think. I shall post pictures up from inside the First Class car later....as on the way to Blaenau Ffestiniog we were the only ones in there.
